Adam Rhine

Adam Rhine is an artist who has been creating ornate, highly detailed Judaica watercolor paintings since 1999. His style is heavily influenced by medieval illuminated manuscripts which he combines with modern palettes and aesthetics.

In September, 2004, Adam was interviewed by the Hallmark Channel to discuss his artwork and inspirations, and later received a full-page interview by the Chicago Tribune in 2006. His designs have also been featured on the covers of the “Texas Jewish Post,” “Kashrus Magazine,” and “Chadashot Magazine” From September - November, 2007, over 40 of his paintings were shown at the Westchester Jewish Center Gallery, Mamaroneck, NY, in a one-man show. He is currently a member of the American Guild of Judaica Art.

Adam’s 108-page hardcover art book, "Hebrew Illuminations" published by Sounds True Inc. features all 22 Hebrew Illuminated Letters, as well as 22 select designs from his ongoing Magen David (Star of David) series. The meanings and numerology behind each letter are written about in great detail by Adam with the help of New York-based writer/teacher Louise Temple, as well as fascinating insights into each Magen David painting.

For the seventh year in a row, Adam’s bestselling wall calendar, also called "Hebrew Illuminations," features 16 of his unique Judaica designs. For 2011, a brand new calendar entitled "Illuminated Psalms" contains 12 of his fantastic and colorful paintings, surrounding profound quotes from the Book of Psalms written by King David (translated in English).

The largest producer of custom Ketubot (Jewish wedding contracts) in North America, www.Ketubah.com, now carries a complete line of brand new Ketubah designs by Adam Rhine.

Ani L'Dodi, v'Dodi Li  by Adam Rhine
I am My Beloved's, and My Beloved is Mine - "Ani L'Dodi, v'Dodi Li" is the most well-known quote from "Shir HaShirim", or "The Song of Songs", written by King Solomon in the language of a beautiful, romantic declaration between a husband and wife, as an allegory for the love between the people of Israel and their Lord.

The intertwining beauty of love is captured in this painting by symmetrical designs reaching around each other, from the upper left and lower right, embracing in spirals around the poetic center. Flora surround the union as the life of the couple grows and flourishes.
