Kippot
Kippot (plural of one kippah), also known as yarmalke in Yiddush, are traditional Jewish headcoverings. While historically they have been worn by men, many women have taken on the custom of wearing one. Some Jews choose to cover their heads all the time, others when they are eating, praying, and learning Jewish texts, and still more just when they are in a sanctuary. Want to learn more?
